I just received a phone call from my favorite sister-in-law. She’s my only sister-in-law, but I’m sure that if I had more she’d still be my favorite! We’re going for dinner tonight (hooray, a date!) and she called to tell me she was running a little late. Then she told me why she’d be late. Can you believe she’s stopping to do a little shopping?! Of all the reasons for being late, that really takes the cake! I mean really, what’s more important, shopping or a dinner date? Well shopping of course! We are of the female persuasion, you know, and I completely understand. It just so happens that one of the items I talk about in the category Shopping - What’s In Store is on sale. Consider these words/phrases: stuff of dreams, female, shopping, sale. If we were to play the old Sesame Street game ‘one of these things does not go together’, it wouldn’t work out very well because there isn’t a single thing here that doesn’t go together! She told me that the Canadian Tire Pergola is on sale for 40% off. That is such an amazing deal you can’t afford not to pick one up! So she’s not picking one up - she’s picking two of them up. That’s right, I caved. Budget restrictions and space restrictions have no place in logic when it comes to a good sale. She’s not sure if there’s an appropriate place for the pergola at her house either, but that’s why there is a little thing called Customer Returns. If it doesn’t work out, it can be returned. BUT! If you don’t buy it at the sale price now, you won’t get it at the sale price later when all of a sudden you do have the perfect spot. There’s also the risk that there simply won’t be any left when that perfect spot materializes. These are chances we women are not willing to take. Get the logic? I’m so excited and hungry I don’t know if I make sense to anyone else. It all works in my mind. Dinner can wait. Go get the pergolas!
