For whatever reason, I just can’t maneuver a wheelbarrow if it only has one wheel! Thank goodness the wheelbarrow gods saw fit to create something a little more manageable for us not-so-coordinated types. It’s the best invention since sliced bagels! I purchased my orange baby about five years ago on sale at Canadian Tire and it’s still rockin’ and rollin’. She might need a little touch up in the paint department, but that just shows how much wear and tear she’s seen in her lifetime with me. What a good girl she’s been - hauling rocks, rocks, and more rocks, transporting plants, shrubs and small trees to new homes (cause that’s what we gardeners like to do), moving loads of dirt, and holding mountains of yard waste. Yes, she has served me well.
Now that fall is just around the corner (sorry for the reality check people) it’s time to make sure she’s in peak condition for collecting all the branches and leaves that season likes to throw at me. The mulching option on the lawn mower can handle the leaves, but I see no point in running the lawn mower for that purpose alone. Besides, I actually enjoy raking and gathering up the leaves. Crazy? Maybe a little. I think of it as part of my fall exercise routine. So just what do I have to do to make sure she’s ready for the work ahead? Add a little air to the tires. Yup, that’s it! Have I mentioned how much I love my two-wheel wheelbarrow?! The only way it could get any easier would be if I had a new self-dumping wheelbarrow. They have two wheels too, you know! I’m not ready to part with my girl yet - she has a lot of good years ahead of her - but if I was in the market, I’d definitely go for a self-dumping wheelbarrow.
A dumping feature and two wheels - how cool would that be!
