Shady Gardener has tagged me for a meme! I have no experience with these things and I’m a little nervous, but I’m game to give it a shot.
First things first, here are…
The Rules
When tagged, you must link to the person who tagged you, then post the rules before your list, and list eight random things about yourself. At the end of the post, you must tag and link to eight other people.
My Random Eight
Originally, this response was to be a joint effort shared between my co-blogger (mom) and I, however, her computer access is a bit limited right now, so it looks like it’s all about me. (Sorry about your luck!)
- My greatest joy comes from being the mommy of an awesome three year old who has an infectious laugh and a fast-developing sense of humor. He makes me laugh and he fills my heart and mind to overflowing.
- I truly believe that I can do anything I set my mind to. If only I could set my mind to better time management.
- I can’t stand it when people tell me what they think I want to hear. I much prefer for people to be honest and up front.
- In addition to gardening, I am passionate about architecture, design and space planning. I think I’ve been drawing floorplans since I was about 10. It is my dream to someday design and build a home for my son and myself.
Am I done yet? Oh, only at four, eh?
- My two favorite seasons are spring and summer. Spring because everything old is new again - everyday I do multiple ‘garden tours’ scouring the ground for the first signs of new life popping up. Summer because the days are hot and sunny - I could spend hours working outside soaking up the heat.
- I like to weed - yes I’m strange! Often times I have trouble restraining myself - no garden is safe from my busy hands. (Maple keys are my nemesis.)
- Doing hard physical work is how I de-stress - gardening/yard work especially. When the going gets tough, I get gardening. It’s a little difficult to do gardening around here in the winter, so that’s when I turn to shoveling snow.
- Cooking - yuck! Eating - yum! Food is always better when someone else is planning and preparing it. I can cook, but it’s very low on my list of fun things to do.
Whew, I did it! Now for some new players.
Because I enjoy reading these blogs and I haven’t seen any evidence of previous meme participation, I’m tagging Daily Weeder, Empress of Dirt, and The Garden Blog of a girl growin’ Southern. Then there is Sara at Farming Friends - I’m just getting to know the animals on her farm. The remaining four are blogs that I’ve been introduced to through a remodeling site. If I was ever to be inspired to plant a vegetable garden, it would be because of Project Kraemer Lane. We can all learn something from Lostview Farm. If only I had a personal chef who would create some of the recipes from these Self-Reliant Yuppies. Bearfort Lodge - the lodge and the grounds that surround it are gorgeous.
I hope to read some random tidbits on all of these blogs in the near future!
