I can never bear to pull them out after they stop blooming, because those long stalks of little round seedheads catch the autumn light and look like burnished bronze beads. Haven't quite mastered the technique of picking and planting items that will begin blooming as others die off. Timing is everything in the garden, but as we all know, it also involves a certain amount of luck. Shady, That little speedwell seems fairly happy so far. I actually dug out my spiderwort because they bored me after mid-July and my shasta daisys peaked a month ago. I LOVE that porcelain vine and will have to look for that in the nurseries.
